Over 99% of privately held companies in the U.S. never receive venture capital financing. Danae Ringelmann, the co-founder of IndieGoGo, aims to change that number. Danae, who Fast Company Magazine recently named as one of the Top 50 Most Influential Women in Technology, launched IndieGoGo with the mission of democratizing fundraising. IndieGoGo has since become the largest crowdfunding platform on the planet.
Danae is passionate about empowering entrepreneurs with the tools and knowledge to raise money, and she speaks often on the topic with engagements at SXSW, TEDX Dubai, MAD Hong Kong, and Big Omaha.
In this talk from Startup Grind's 2014 global conference, Danae discusses the future of crowd funding and how entrepreneurs can leverage non-traditional means to get their business off the ground.
